Thieme Medical Publishers
Thieme Medical Publishers are a medical and science publisher headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany. The business was by founded in 1886 in Leipzig, Germany by Georg Thieme. In 1944 the publishing house was bombed during World War II and is forced to close completely. In 1946, The Allies offer to move the company to Stuttgart. It is still family-owned today. They publish around 70 new book titles every year and more than 140 medical and scientific journals.

Of note in the company’s history is that in 1896 they published Roentgen’s famous picture of his wife’s hand in the journal, Deutsche Medizinische Wochenschrift.
