HarperCollins Publishers LLC is one of the world’s biggest publishing companies and is a subsidiary of News Corp with headquarters in New York City. They have more than 120 book imprints.
William Collins established his printing and publishing company in Glasgow, Scotland in 1819. James Harper and his brother John started their book publishing business, J. & J. Harper in New York City in 1817. Collins merged with Harper in 1990, forming a new publisher named HarperCollins which was subsequently purchased by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation.
