The National Podiatry Scheduled Medicines is a list that specifies the Schedule 2, 3, 4 and 8 medicines that podiatrists and podiatric surgeons who meet the registration requirements to be endorsed for scheduled medicines by the Podiatry Board of Australia are qualified to administer, obtain, possess, prescribe, sell, supply or use for the treatment of podiatric conditions. The most recent version of the list from the Podiatry Board of Australia is 2018 (please check the Board’s website for any updates not covered here).
A podiatrist in Australia with the endorsement of their registration for scheduled medicines only indicates that they are qualified to administer, obtain, possess, prescribe, sell, supply or use Schedule 2, 3, 4 or 8 medicines specified in the endorsement. The endorsement does not actually authorise a podiatrist to do so. The authorisation to do so in a state or territory is provided by or under legislation and regulations of the state or territory in which they are practicing. There are some variations in state and territory law covering that.
