McBride:
Indicated for mild to moderate deformity; good ROM with no crepitus
Focuses on soft tissue influences on pathomechanics
Technique:
• excision of medial exostosis (similar to Silver bunionectomy)
• excision of fibular sesamoid (modified McBride procedure preserves fibula sesamoid)
• medial capsule capsulorrhaphy
• transfer of adductor hallucis tendon to deep surface of medial capsular flap (originally believed by McBride to reduce lateral contracture at joint)
