McKeever fusion:
Fusion of first MPJ in severe case of HAV and hallux limitus, especially if gait is apropulsive (less effects on long term function).
Achieves a stable, pain free alignment.
Usually aim for fusion in 15-20 degrees of dorsiflexion.
Used with caution in those with interphalangeal osteoarthritis
