Hersey are a custom made running shoe manufacturer based in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. It was originally founded in 1982 by Bart and Jan Hersey. The business was taken over by Stephen Keoseian in 2007. 
The shoes are custom made and are ordered online from a tracing of the footprint and some measurements. A number of upper and outersole as well as orthopedic options are available. A different sized shoe can be made for the left and right foot. The price for the shoe ranges from US$190 for the racing flat model up to US$370 for the high top model. The shoes can be resoled for US$70. The turn around time for making a pair of shoes appears to be from 3 and up to 6 months. Anecdotally, there are a number of comments that these shoes do last longer than the mass-produced running shoes.
