Cyprus is a island sovereign state officially called the Republic of Cyprus in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea. It is a member state of the European Union. Its location is east of Greece, south of Turkey, west of Syria and Lebanon, north west of Israel and north of Egypt. The capital is Nicosia and the official languages are Greek and Turkish.
