The Taming of the Shrew is a comedy written by William Shakespeare that is thought to have been written around 1590 to 1594. The play focuses on Petruchio and Katherina, the unwed headstrong “shrew,” and Petruchio’s tormenting (“taming”) of her into submission. In an episode of “Monsterpiece Theater” on children’s TV show, Sesame Street a sketch is done that is a spoof of the Shakespeare play. In “The Taming of the Shoe“, the famous podiatrist William Shoespeare, is accompanied by a talking shoe that he needs to convince to cooperate with him so he can walk to the Padua Mall.
