In episode 15 of Season 5, ‘The Friendship Contraction‘ (originally aired February 2, 2012), Sheldon’s roommate Leonard Hofstadter (Johnny Galecki) suspends the roommate agreement that he has with Sheldon. This leaves Sheldon without someone to take him to the dermatologist, allergist or podiatrist.
