The Running Foot Doctor by Dr Steven Subotnick from 1977 was written for runners and more or less launched the discipline of podiatric sports medicine and elevated the profile of podiatrists substantially in the running community. The book certainly inspired many people at the time to pursue a career in podiatry and a lot of podiatrists look back on this book with fond memories.
