Contrast Radiography

Contrast Radiography:
Visualisation of the arterial system by radiography following injection of radiopaque dye.
Up to 10% develop complications following procedure – most commonly renal problems  adequate patient preparation vital, especially hydration prior to procedure. Complications at site of puncture include thrombosis, haematomas and false aneurysm.

Indications:
• Vascular surgical planning
• Following trauma
• Diagnosis of congenital abnormalities
