V Carbon is a running shoe midsole technology that has been developed to improve the performance of running shoes founded by Paul Vawter, based in Oxnard, California. The midsole has no foam but uses a suspended Kevlar mesh on a carbon chassis in the midsole to act like a “trampoline” or “tennis racket”. The company claim that a shoe made from their midsole technology allows for a faster turnover than all other foam and carbon fibre running shoes due to the rebound. The technology is available for running shoe companies to use under license.
A running shoe using the technology is planned to be released in 2022.
The technology is said to be patent pending, however, we could not locate a patent application (if you can help us here, please contact us).
