First Aid and CPR Requirements for Podiatrists in the USA:

Maryland:
The Maryland Department of Health, Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners Regulation 10.40.02.03 (6) requires that “To qualify for renewal, a licensee shall possess a current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification that was attained through completion of a Board-approved cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) course that: (a) Includes a hands-on practical component; and (b) Is worth 3 credit hours.” The 3 credit hours can count towards the required 50 hours of continuing education over a two-year period. However, the Board may waive, modify, or waive and modify the cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification required if the licensee submits a written request and documentation that sufficiently demonstrates an extraordinary hardship.

Nevada:
The Nevada State Board of Podiatry requires proof of current CPR certification when podiatric medical licenses are renewed each year. NRS 635.115 requires that the podiatrist is ‘currently certified in the techniques of administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation‘. CPR certifications are valid for two years.
