First Aid and CPR Requirements for Podiatrists in the United Kingdom:

The Health & Care Professions Council requires that in their “The standards of proficiency for chiropodists / podiatrists” that “You must meet all the standards of proficiency to register with us and meet the standards relevant to your scope of practice to stay registered with us…“. These standards state in the relevant section that:

14. be able to draw on appropriate knowledge and skills to inform practice

14.8 be able to use basic life support skills and to deal safely with clinical emergencies

When renewing registrations, you are required to declare that you “Continued to meet the HCPC’s Standards of proficiency for the safe and effective practice of my profession“.
Unlike some other countries, it does not specify a current CPR or first aid certificate is required, but the assumption is that to meet that standard, you would need to have current certifcation. (Is this correct? can anyone help?)
