Foot: A New Approach to Structure and Function

This book, Foot: A New Approach to Structure and Function, appeared on the publisher’s website due for publication in 2003, by the author, G David Stainsby. However, the book was never released. Commentary at the time indicated that the book was eagerly anticipated as the author was considered to have an innovative approach to foot function and biomechanics, especially concerning the windlass mechanism and the reverse windlass mechanism and their role in foot pathology.

It was due to be published by CRC Press, a subsidiary of Taylor & Francis.

The author was an orthopedic surgeon previously from the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle upon Tyne in the UK. He is commonly acknowledged for the Stainsby procedure for claw toes.
