Dr Irvin I. Donick, DPM was born in Poland in 1937 and spent his childhood in hiding during the Holocaust. He emigrated to the USA when he was 10 years old. Dr Donick graduated from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in 1963. He then completed a Residency in Foot Surgery at Kern Hospital in Detroit, MI. Dr Donick was a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Foot and Ankle Surgery. He was a Director, Maryland Podiatry Residency Program; Adjunct Clinical Faculty at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine and also at the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine. He founded MVS Podiatry Associates in Baltimore, Maryland in 1965

Dr Irvin Donick passed away at the age of 83 on Tuesday, August 11th, 2020. His life is celebrated in a book, Somewhere Between Excellent and Perfect: The Remarkable Life of Dr. Irvin I. Donick by M. Hirsh Goldberg and Barbara Donick:

Donick” presents the remarkable story of a person who, as a young child, escaped the Nazis during their occupation of Poland before coming to America at age ten. He arrived speaking no English and hobbled by serious injuries resulting from the war; seven years later Irv graduated high school and was a standout on his track and football teams. After attending college and podiatry school, Irv became a renowned leader in his field, building one of the largest podiatry practices in the nation. He married his high school sweet heart and raised three happy children and eleven grandchildren. The stories, experiences and insights to be gleaned from Irvin Donick’s fascinating life, from his harrowing childhood experiences and his personal and professional successes, as well as his unusual adventures traveling in 144 different countries, are all captured in this book enhanced by his award-winning photography.Through it all, Irvin Donick remained an extraordinarily strong, positive person.
