Indomethacin*:
• eg Arthrexin®, Indocid®; potent cox-2 inhibitor- indicated for moderate to severe inflammation
• well absorbed orally; metabolised in liver; excreted in urine and faeces
• effective anti-inflammatory and analgesic, but has higher risk for some adverse effects (contraindicated in children)
• minor adverse effects are common – indigestion, gastric bleeding, headaches
