Ethosuximide:
• suppresses neuron in hypothalamus that generate absence seizures, by blocking influx of calcium through the T-type calcium channels (does not affect sodium channels or GABA)
• used for absence seizures
• adverse effect – lethargy, drowsiness, dizziness, ataxia, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain
