Bile acid binding resins (bile sequestering drugs):
• eg cholestyramine, colestipol, probucol, colesevelam
• not absorbed (large molecular weight)
• bind acids in the GI tract  increase cholesterol clearance and lowers LDL levels
• primarily used now as an adjunct to statins
