Autonomic Assessment:
Changes in blood pressure and pulse rate:
Pulse and blood pressure are taken with patient relaxed in a supine position and then again on standing.
Normally, pulse rate should increase about 10-12 beats/minute, the systolic blood pressure should drop by about 30mmHg and diastolic by about 15mmHg.
Any abnormalities suggest autonomic dysfunction
