Pharmacological Management:

Modifications to diet and lifestyle modifications (eg exercise) are usually not sufficient in the longer term for the management of glycaemic control – most with Type 2 diabetes will eventually need oral hypoglycaemic agents (if HbA1c remains > 8%), with some requiring insulin. Pharmacological management is not a substitute for dietary modification and physical exercise.
