Flexor hallucis brevis

Flexor hallucis brevis:
• patient supine or sitting
• stabilise foot proximal to MPJ – maintain foot and ankle in neutral position.
• test flexion of the 1st MPJ by having patient plantar flex hallux against a dorsiflexory against proximal phalanx
