Trendelenburg/Myopathic Gait (‘Waddling gait’):
Opposite side of pelvis drops in relation to the weightbearing side; weakness in the gluteal muscles lets the pelvis lurch towards the affected (weightbearing) side; when bilateral ‘lurching’ or ‘waddling’ gait
eg muscular dystrophy; metabolic muscle disorders; motor neuron disease; spinal muscular atrophy; congenital hip dysplasia
