Peroneus longus:
Proximal attachment – upper 2/3rd of lateral surface of fibula
Distal attachment – plantar aspect of base of first metatarsal and lateral side of medial cuneiform
Open chain function – plantarflexion of ankle and eversion of foot
Closed chain function – stabilises the first ray, transfers body weight from the lateral to the medial side of the foot and to opposite limb
Nerve supply – superficial peroneal (L5, S1, S2)
Arterial supply – anterior tibial and peroneal artery’s
