Extensor digitorum brevis:
Proximal attachment – anterior superior lateral surface of calcaneus (anterior to sinus tarsi)
Distal attachment – proximal phalanx of hallux and extensor expansion of digits 2 to 4 (medial slip is sometimes called extensor hallucis brevis)
Open chain function – extension of hallux and digits 2 to 4
Nerve supply – deep peroneal (lateral terminal branch)(S1, S2)
Arterial supply – dorsalis pedis
