YORK Athletics has been manufacturing sportswear in New England for athletes since 1946. They are headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts. In 2016 they teamed up with footwear industry veteran, Mark McGarry, to launch YORK Athletics MFG, an independently owned direct-to-consumer footwear brand that includes running shoes.
The running shoe in their range is the York Athletics Henry Runner.
About Mark McGarry:
Mark is the Co-founder and CEO of YORK Athletics MFG since February 2016. Previously he was a Vice President, Lifestyle Footwear at Puma and a Marketing Communications Manager with Nike. Mark’s initial interest in the sneaker industry was as a coach at a snowboard training camp that was owned by footwear and apparel company, Vans.
YORK Fit Finder:
An October 13, 2020 press release from the company announced the YORK Fit Finder, a smartphone-based 3D scanning technology that scans and measures the shape and proportions of the foot to make a personalized shoe size recommendation. It was billed as an at-home fit experience innovation for e-commerce. It was developed in partnership with Findmeashoe. However, the URL in the press release currently redirects to the York Athletes Mfg home page, so the status of this tool is not known. The blog post on this from the company is still live.
