Sesamoid bone procedures
Indications- painful non-union of fracture; sesamoid arthritis; avascular necrosis
Procedure:
Post-op- stiff-soled shoe for 4 weeks; avoid dorsiflexion exercises
Complications- hallux valgus (following tibial excision); hallux varus (following fibular excision); “rock-up” deformity
