Posterior Nerve Block

Posterior Nerve Block:

Anaesthetises the entire plantar surface.

Technique:
Palpate pulse of posterior tibial pulse – raise wheal just over this neurovascular bundle  advance needle to find tibial nerve – patient will feel parathesia  aspirate to make sure not in artery  inject 1cc

Nerve may bifurcate above anaesthetic site.
