First metatarsophalangeal joint strapping
Used for pain in first metatarsophalangeal joint by limiting dorsiflexion.
Use 1cm tape
Technique:
Apply overlapping strips longitudinally from plantar aspect of hallux to just behind level of midtarsal joint – apply enough strips to cover plantar and medial aspects of joint. Hold toe slightly plantarflexed. Bind down ends of tape by encircling around toe and around midfoot -–do not apply strip around midfoot too tightly
