Increased risk due to:
1) Non-drug factors:
a) Patient factors (age, gender, disease, tendency to allergy)
b) Non-patient factors (prescriber behaviour)
2) Drug factors – use of drug, interactions between drugs, low sensitivity and specificity of drug for target site, polypharmacy
