Cholesterol:
Total:
• normally 120-200mg/100ml
• Increased dietary, cirrhosis, hyperlipoproteinaemia, nephrotic syndrome
• Decreased hyperthyroidism, starvation, malabsorption, anaemia
High density lipoprotein:
• normally >45mg/100ml = lower risk for cardiovascular disease/events
Low density lipoprotein:
• normally 60-80mg/100ml
• decreased malnutrition, malabsorption
• increased hyperlipidaemia, dietary
