Normally 98-107 mmol/l. Plays role in water balance and acid/base balance.
Increased acidotic conditions, dehydration, renal disease, anaemia, eclampsia
Decreased alkalosis, vomiting, diuretics, burns, heat exhaustion, ulcerative colitis
