Classification :
1) Tidy/clean
2) Untidy/contaminated
3) Wound with soft tissue loss
4) Infected wounds
Treatment:
After patients medically stabilised definitive treatment of wound:
1) Irrigation – for removal of foreign material, aids in debridement, rehydrates tissue
2) Debridement of all foreign and devitalised material
3) Closure
4) Wound dressing
