Fracture of Posterior Process of Talus (Shaper’s Fracture):
Differentiate from os trigonum.

Two mechanisms:
1) Forced plantarflexion of foot  impingement on talus  fracture
2) Forced dorsiflexion  increased traction on posterior talofibular ligament  fracture

Clinical features:
Posterior ankle pain and tenderness; history of traumatic event;
Clinical test – plantarflex foot and dorsiflex hallux – if painful at posterior ankle  ? fracture

Treatment:
If non-displaced- 4-6 weeks in slight equinus cast
Mabye surgical excision of fragment
