Sources – milk, cheese, meat, poultry, fish, cereals, nuts, legumes
Function – bone and tooth formation, acid-base balance, nucleic acids, production of energy
Deficiency  hypophosphataemia, irritability, weakness, blood cell disorders, gastrointestinal and renal dysfunction
Toxicity  hyperphosphataemia
