Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (NHL)/Lymphoma:
Annual incidence of 12/100 000; median age of onset 65-70yrs
3 clinical forms based on lymph node biopsy
• low grade lymphomas
• intermediate grade lymphomas
• high grade lymphoma
Clinical features:
• Enlargement of lymph nodes – painless; solitary or diffuse; may be associated with splenomegaly
• Systemic features due to hypermetabolism form rapid turnover of cells – fatigue; malaise; fever; weight loss; pruritis; sweating; anaemia; infections
• Extranodal tumour spread
