Haemophilia A

Haemophilia A:
Reduction of factor VIII; affects 1/10 000;
Sex linked inheritance; factor VIII gene in on the X chromosome

Clinical features:
Usually noticed after age 6 months – superficial bruising and/or haemoarthrosis

Management:
Bleeding episodes  IV infusion of factor VIII concentrate
