Dizziness:
subjective complaint that is difficult to measure and quantify  challenging symptom
sensation of disorientation in relation to the position or movement of the body in space
one of most common presenting complaint in those >75 years
4 basic types – vertigo, presyncope light-headedness, dysequilibrium, others
common causes – anaemia; anxiety; cardiac dysrhythmia; adverse effect of drugs; depression; systemic infection; Meniere’s disease; migraine; acute myocardial infarction; stroke; tumour; vasovagal; vestibulopathy; cervical vertigo
management – identify and treat cause; symptomatic relief; coping strategies
