Hyperventilation
Rapid and shallow breathing in those with a high level of anxiety. Leads to a loss of C02 and change in body pH respiratory alkalosis can develop.
Develop tachypnoea, chest tightness, palpitations, blurred vision, vertigo
Management:
Reassurance; breath into paper bag (rebreaths C02)
