Acute Asthma attack
Generally have a known diagnosis
Due to allergies, drugs, emotional stress
Symptoms – pale, cool and clammy skin; coughing; shortness of breath; wheezing; rapid and weak pulse, cyanosis. If severe respiratory arrest.
Immediate management
Sit upright. Give puffs from inhaler if available; reassurance; oxygen
If respiratory arrest – resuscitation.
