Fibrosis/intractable plantar keratoma (IPK):
• in longstanding helomas increased amount of fibrous tissue – thought to be ‘scar’ tissue from longstanding low grade inflammation due to heloma.
• appears like a ‘crater’ around lesion, with white (sometimes macerated) borders
• after debridement orthoses and accommodative padding, but often resistant to conservative measures
