Necrotising fasciitis

Necrotising fasciitis:
Acute serious infection – potentially life threatening. ‘Flesh eating’ disorder. Most commonly Strep. pyogenes.
Clinically – onset can vary from within a few hours to several days;
Treatment – extensive surgical debridement and systemic antibiotics – carefully monitor status
