Common in children. Recurrent and persistent – almost always on feet.
Chronic scaling fissuring dermatitis – usually around hallux. If weeping and crusting ?secondary bacterial infection.
Differential diagnosis – tinea, contact dermatitis
Treatment – corticosteroids cream; soaks; protective padding (eg tube foam); properly fitting shoes.
