Flexor hallucis brevis:
Proximal attachment – medial side of plantar surface of cuboid; lateral cuneiform
Distal attachment – two heads  medial and lateral sides of base of proximal phalanx of hallux and sesamoid bones
Open chain function – flexion of 1st MPJ
Closed chain function – stabilises hallux on ground and stabilises first ray posteriorly
Nerve supply – medial plantar
Arterial supply – first plantar metatarsal artery
