The Akileine Akilwinter cream is a topical preparation indicated for chilblains, frostbite, Raynuad’s phenomenon and sensitive skin that is exposed to cold. It is claimed that the mechanism is: “It protects the skin from damage caused by the cold and damp, especially by stimulating blood microcirculation and strengthening its barrier function. Irritations, smarting and tightness linked to the cold are soothed thanks to its soothing and nourishing formula.“
This cream does appear to be recommended by a number of podiatrists and there are plenty of positive anecdotes and testimonials from users. The Amazon.com rating from 952 users is 4.4 out of 5 stars (as at March, 2023). There is no published research on it use.
