Originally developed in 1951 by Russian Professor Gavrri A Ilizarov. Orthopaedic Centre in Kurgan, Siberia.
Method of external fixation that has revolutionised the treatment of many musculoskeletal problems.
Bone subject to continual external tension in any direction to lengthen bone or correct deformity.
