Metatarsal osteotomy
Indicated for symptoms associated with a plantarflexed metatarsal
Distal osteotomy:
• can be oblique or closing wedge
Weil osteotomy:
• indicated for many conditions
Proximal osteotomy:
• many variations – most commonly an oblique closing wedge
Partial head osteotomy:
• retract extensor mechanism
• incise dorsal capsule
• McGlammory retractor underneath the met head
• Remove plantar 30% of met head with saw
• Rasp surface
