Lesser Toe Nerve Block:
25-27 gauge needle
Technique:
Pinch skin on dorsum at base of toe with thumb and forefinger insert needle and inject 0.25cc push needle plantarly down lateral side of toe, injecting anaesthetic as go. Needle is almost fully withdrawn then push down medial side of toe.
May need to inject an additional ½cc on plantar aspect of fifth toes if it is rotated.
