Chopart’s Amputation:
Amputation of midfoot and forefoot – talus and calcaneus preserved. Not usually done for ischaemia.
Loss of tendon insertions into foot  unstable amputation procedure. Achilles tenotomy may be used to ‘balance’.
Tend to go into equinus as lost lever arm of metatarsals  loose plantar weightbearing through plantar heel pad  need AFO or boot type prostheses
