Chopart’s Amputation:
Amputation of midfoot and forefoot – talus and calcaneus preserved. Not usually done for ischaemia.
Loss of tendon insertions into foot  unstable amputation procedure. Achilles tenotomy may be used to ‘balance’.
Tend to go into equinus as lost lever arm of metatarsals  loose plantar weightbearing through plantar heel pad  need AFO or boot type prostheses Find Weird and Wonderful Books at AbeBooks
