Types of variables:
Independent: – variable that is free to vary by itself – a predictor variable – it is the variable that will predict or cause a given outcome
Dependent: – not free to vary – it is dependent on the affects of one or more other variables – the outcome variable – it is the variable that is assumed to be predicted or caused by the independent variable
